Ivan Cisternas master of the fretboard has been playing guitar over 35 years and has been a member of almost 30 bands throughout his career. He is currently the lead guitarist in two Heavy metal tribute bands: Into the Void, a Black Sabbath tribute band and Sanctuary, an Iron Maiden tribute band. Originally from Kearny, N.J. Ivan started playing at the age of 13 and was quickly influenced by Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock appearance. Influenced by many early classic rock pioneers like Jeff beck and Jimmy Page, He grew up on am radio but when it came to guitar he gravitated toward the heavy sound in rock and metal music which became his staple in the 80's. We discuss his current path into the tribute band circuit its ups and downs and its iconic advantage to the cover band genre and the music industry that surrounds both.
