The Choice Is Yours

Romans 7:18

"For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out."

Matthew 5:3

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

The key to overcoming your sinful nature is

faith in Christ not faith in yourself.

Galatians 3:1-3

"Oh, foolish Galatians! Who has cast an evil spell on you? For the meaning of Jesus Christ's death was made as clear to you as if you had seen a picture of his death on the cross. 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. 3 How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to finish by your own human effort?"

Romans 8:5-6

"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what the sinful nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind controlled by the sinful nature leads to death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit leads to life and peace."
