The Coalition has backflipped on it's key working from home policy as Labor holds a narrow lead in the polls.
The party has also walked away from sacking 41,000 public servants and instead will rely on natural attrition.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "What we've said is that we've got it wrong in relation to the policy that we had out there."
"I think if you think back to Peter Beatty's leadership, I think one of his attributes, which I admired at the time, was that if you get it wrong as a leader, fess up, throw your hands up, admit that you've got it wrong and explain why."
"And then you can move on," the Opposition Leader commented.
