Jacinda Ardern says New Zealand First's ideas on immigration values aren't Government policy.

The party's delegates have voted to support a bill which would see immigrants agree to New Zealand values before being allowed into the country.

It includes a promise to respect gender equality, all legal sexual preferences and the legality of alcohol.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern told Mike Hosking it's a Members Bill and hasn't been drawn out of the biscuit tin.

"This has been put up as a party policy for New Zealand First, we won't adopt it as a government policy."
