Steve reads the tale of a poor boy named Jack who lives with his widowed mother in a humble cottage. When their only cow stops giving milk, Jack is sent to market to sell her. Instead, he trades the cow for a handful of mysterious “magic” beans. Furious, his mother throws the beans out the window. The next morning, Jack discovers an enormous beanstalk has sprouted overnight, stretching high into the clouds. Driven by curiosity and the hope of fortune, Jack climbs the towering stalk and finds a strange and dangerous new world waiting above.
