Cute and Educational.

This is a very cute book and it helps teach young children that it's ok to be different even if others make fun of something they believe in. Something as simple as a rat and his funny little hat can have a big impact on a child's self esteem and individuality. The illustrations are bright, colorful and grabs their attention as it's being read to them or if their reading it themselves. Excellent!

Great for Toddlers

This story is warm and charming; a tale that helps children understand and cope with setbacks in life and how they can turn out for the best. The illustrations are delightful and add to the depth of the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone. Any child will feel that this story relates to them but especially for those who have a favorite blankie, teddy bear, or hat.

Great book

My kids love to read this book. They enjoy the colors and most of all the story. They get excited when Jack looses his hat and upset when some of the others laugh at Jack. This book is great for kids!!
