“The air you're breathing right now is also the same air that once circulated through the respiratory system of Jesus over 2000 years ago, which probably makes you feel a bit spiritual, doesn’t it? But unfortunately you’re also breathing the same air that once circulated through the body of Jack the Ripper, which probably makes you feel a bit shit”
Warning: This podcast contains graphic descriptions of real-life murder victims. No offence or harm is intended towards the victims' or their families in our reading of the coroner's reports on each case.
No other figure in the history of media killers has cast as much fear and terror as London's infamous Jack the Ripper. The Ripper, so-called because of a letter supposedly dubbing himself so, struck terror and murder into the heart of London's East End over 130 years ago. But how does a man whose frenzied, but short, reign of terror come to live on through the generations? Is it the fact the culprit was never found? Is it because he was the first serial killer publicised by London's hungry and growing media? We may never know, but what we do know is he was no myth. This monster was very real, and he left a trail of bloodied and dissected victims in his wake. This is our overview of Jack the Ripper.
