Good gravy! The Revival League Podcast proudly presents our newest original comedy radio play, “It's a Tell Tale Valentine, Eddie Poe!.” It's Middle America, 1973. And the Independence Broadcasting System is airing its Tenth Anniversary Special of the beloved classic, “It's a Tell Tale Valentine, Eddie Poe!" (With special behind-the-scenes commentary from Gothic horror cartoonist and Eddie Poe creator, Edgar Allen Poe). Everyone agrees that out of all the Eddie Poes out there, Eddie Poe is the Eddie-Poe-iest. He's insecure, unpopular, chronically depressed, and possibly mad; a ten-year-old poet whose only buddies are cape-wearing Lionel and Eddie Poe's dog, Snooby the Anthropomorphic Basset Hound. So when the Little Strawberry-Haired Girl, Lenore, sends this tortured soul a Tell-Tale Valentine, Eddie Poe must take drastic measures to preserve his sanity and hide his secret love. All while he's directing the other kids in a Singles Shaming Day Pageant to celebrate the holidays! Join Eddie Poe, Spearmint Sally, Annabel Lucy, Schrödinger, Woodraven and the rest of the Eddie Poe gang in a heart-thumping, angst-filled descent into madness that can only signal that it's Valentine's Day. Consumption! Pits and pendulums! Polly Matthison Snack Cakes! Terrible gothic poetry! Supernatural tachycardia! So please grab some chalky candied hearts, some overpriced flowers bought last minute at the gas station, and settle in for a story of dark secrets and unrequited love.
