Surf's up, beach lovers! The coastal winds are setting the stage for an epic day along the Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia shorelines. Today's forecast is painting a picture of moderate rip current risks, so surfers and swimmers need to keep their wits about them.

For the Jacksonville and St. Augustine beaches, we're looking at a gorgeous day with surf heights climbing 3 to 4 feet. North winds will start around 10 mph, then kick into gear with a northeast punch up to 20 mph by afternoon. Water temperatures are sitting sweet at 70 to 75 degrees - perfect for catching some waves or just soaking up the sun.

Speaking of sun, the UV index is blasting into very high territory, so grab that sunscreen and protect your skin! The weather gods are serving up a sunny masterpiece with temperatures cruising into the lower 70s.

Tide watchers, take note: morning high tides are rolling in between 6:36 and 7:21 AM, with low tides dipping down around midday.

Now, Thursday is bringing some serious surf action. Expect wave heights to jump to 6 to 7 feet with a high rip current risk. The winds will calm down to a northeastern breeze around 10 mph, and temperatures will nudge into the mid-70s. A slight chance of showers might add some drama to your beach day.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Friday offers a mixed bag with 4 to 5 foot surf and a chance of thunderstorms. Saturday and Sunday promise gentler conditions with smaller waves and plenty of sunshine.

Bottom line: Respect the ocean, watch those rip currents, and enjoy the coastal paradise!
