Welcome to the latest episode of Preserving History and Democracy! In this episode, we welcome a special guest, Teddie Moreno, a Library Specialist with the Archives and Special Collections Department at New Mexico State University. First, Teddie starts by telling us about Jacob Schaublin, who made New Mexico State a Land Grant College. Then, the ladies get into the property that Mr. Schaublin donated to the University and what the land looks like now. Next, Caroline, Bern, and Teddy talk about what led Mr. Schaublin to Doña Ana County and the business he created. Lastly, they talk about his family and how they were connected to other well-known names in the area.
