In this week’s episode of OEM Industry Update, we speak with Gabriel Roberts, Director of Product Development at Jacobs Vehicle Systems, about advancing engine brake and valvetrain technologies. Roberts says valvetrains are becoming more complex as manufacturers work toward lowering emissions. As such, the company is designing valvetrains to be more modular and capable of performing several tasks such as engine braking, cylinder deactivation and decompression for start-stop cycles.
