Jah Wobble

Listen Later

A (relatively) in-depth analysis of singer, songwriter and musician Jah Wobble. With a stage name coined by Sid Vicious, when he was drunkenly slurring his real name, Jah Wobble began his musical career as a founder member of Public Image Limited, his heavy, hypnotic bass lines defining their early sound. Wobble parted company with Lydon and Public Image Limited in 1980 to pursue what would become a successful and prolific solo career and has since collaborated with a wide variety of musicians and recording projects over the years. Raised as a Roman Catholic he later converted to Buddhism. His wife is harpist and guzheng player Zi Lan Liao and his daughter is music producer Natalie Wardle. His autobiography, Memoirs of a Geezer: Music, Life, Mayhem was released in September 2009.

According to Spotify 'Jah Wobble is one of the genuine musical polymaths to emerge from the post-punk era as a virtuoso bassist, composer, producer, journalist, poet, and author.'

In this episode I am in conversation with Dr. Andrew Webber.

I hope you enjoy this podcast.
