The Book of James is the first letter of the New Testament, written by the blood brother of Jesus. James was a leader of the early church in Jerusalem and was writing to dispersed Christians living unsettled and persecuted in a culture much opposed to the faith they were living out. James cut to the chase and was no-nonsense in this letter of wisdom that is just as timely for us today in 2024 as it was nearly 2,000 years ago.
