James, the brother of Jesus, confronts us with strong words designed to call us to live out a bold and active faith in Christ. In this 12th sermon by Pastor Seth Winterhalter on the book of James, we examine James 4:1-5:6. James begins this section with the question, "What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you?" He then gives the answer, it is our passions which are at war within us. Our sinful, distorted state births within us passions and desires that promise peace, pleasure, contentment and control but deliver disunity, betrayal, and brokenness. The answer to our distorted passions is the gospel of our salvation and the redemption of new life in Christ.
