Great insight with No Fluff!
The author does a great job giving his fresh perspective of how the scriptures from the book of James move him to a deeper relationship with Christ. It's refreshing to read commentary from "non-seminary" authors. Buy this book if you are looking for a great way to have a devotional and feel like someone (Kurt) is on the journey with you.
Thought provoking!
I found that this short book which walks us through the Letter of James in the New Testament a nice bible companion to trigger my own search for meaning from the biblical text. I got me thinking about temptation, favoritism, wisdom and effective prayer. Just in time for Lent.
It feels like having a conversation with a friend about Scripture
This book is, as the subtitle suggests, the simple reflections of an ordinary Christians on Scripture. In this case, James. (He has others as well.) The comments are not scholarly or stuffy. I think you will find them fresh and warm. It feels like having a conversation with a friend about Scripture.
A totally interesting idea
A totally interesting idea, there is no deep, archaic subtext to this book but instead it is thoughtful, interesting and a fresh outlook simply because it was written by a guy who is not a seminary student but instead a thoughtful lay Christian.
The way the author takes you through the book, is easy to understand.
I give it a 5. I read the bible dailythis ebook helps you to have more insight in the chapter. It is very exciting and refreshing to be able to read a chapter and at the same time cross reference and also to get an understanding. This would he, a lot of unbelievers to understand the word more easily. I would recommend this book to everyone.
