Sir Peter Blake's son has arrived in Auckland on one of the Volvo Ocean Race yachts.

They arrived in Auckland early this morning, completing leg six of the race.

James Blake is onboard Turn The Tide on Plastic as the onboard reporter.

He told Mike Hosking he can't think of any tougher conditions to film in.

"That's the biggest challenge, trying to keep all the equipment dry and still workable. That's one of the biggest things, to get the shots you need, the shots you want."

Blake says keeping out of the way of sailors is important too because they can a bit grumpy if you don't.
