In 2009 with $1,800 to his name, James acquired a single scoop shop. Just before the shop was set to open, a fire took the building - and James plans - down. James began making batches of gelato in his garage and by 2013, his gelato began selling in a local grocer in Calgary. Since then,the brand has continued to expand and has found incredible success as a top gelato product.
Throughout this episode, James talks about the early days of Righteous Gelato, his approach to expansion, manufacturing process, becoming a B corp company, what sustainability means to him, the value of mentorship throughout his entrepreneurship journey, a crazy story from building the business, and so much more.
