Cameron, a prominent user of technology in his films, is both optimistic about the potential benefits of AI and Robotics, particularly in the fields of art and exploration, but also deeply concerned about the potential for its misuse in the military. He warns that the development of advanced AI could lead to an ethical and moral crisis, as we grapple with the possibility of machine consciousness and the potential for autonomous weapons systems to make life-or-death decisions without human oversight.

He specifically cautions that the technology could be used by unscrupulous actors like Vladimir Putin, who have no qualms about using AI for deadly purposes, and argues that we need to carefully consider the consequences of creating an AI that could surpass human intelligence and make decisions that could have catastrophic consequences for humanity.
