“We have such a capacity for beauty and good,” the parting words that James said as we ended our interview. I write this a week or 2 after our conversation and all I can do is play the last bits of our interview over and over again. Those words resonate like the ring of a bell on the top of a mountain. A weird analogy maybe but the point is that those words hit me pretty hard. I appreciate James for several reasons but mainly because, in the 5 years that I have known him, he has never been shy about who he is. A wise man with tons of experience and knowledge and what it means to not only make good choices but also how to avoid the bad ones. I find every guest I talk to has something special to offer and with every conversation, I learn something new not only about the world and people but also about myself. I learned from my conversation with James that it takes a lot more effort to accept things for what they are than it takes to go out and change them.
