James chapter 4 is all about spiritual evaluation. James tells us from verse 1 that external turmoil is linked to internal troubles. If we take a look on the inside of us, what is the cause of the effect? Control comes from lack of security. Vanity comes from lack of self confidence. You enable someone because of your own shame that you haven't dealt with.
