James – Christian Conduct Examined

James 4: 1-17 Neil Woodbury

James the Elder in the Jerusalem assembly speaks now to the Christian concerning their conduct – to put away the lusts and ways of those outside of Christ.

I. You ask and have not – Why?

a. Read James 4: 1-4

b. Be not friend to the ways of men because they have departed the ways of God.

II. Be subject to God – Stand firm

a. Read James 4: 5-10

b. Draw close to God – and He will draw close to you!

III. Speak not against one another…

a. Read James 4: 11-12

b. Do not violate the Lord’s command;

Read John 13: 34-35

c. Be a doer of the New Commandment, not a Judge of it!
