Christians are called to accept that Jesus has come to rescue any and all who will believe. His death was always meant to be seen as a rescue effort. Those who accept this, find themselves saved to a new life now and one day for all eternity. However, Jesus makes it clear that this is only part of the story. The full telling of the story involves our acceptance and our willingness to tell others that they need to be rescued.
