Paul and Barnabas traveled to Jerusalem to visit with church leaders privately for fear that they had been wrong to reach out to non-Jews and not require them to follow Jewish laws and customs. James, Peter and John affirmed and encouraged their activities by giving Paul and Barnabas “the right hand of fellowship.”
