The last handful of months have really given me an opportunity to appreciate the world of endurance training, specifically the Ultra-distance world of running.
The training, and more impressive, the mindset involved in order to willingly push your body to extreme distances takes a special kind of person.
My guest today, James Pierrat, is one of these people.
James runs one of my favorite accounts on all of instagram, Wild Hunt Conditioning, he takes readers on a historical journey of all manner of strength cultures throughout time.
He is also an avid endurance athlete actually holding a Guinness World Record, that we get into in the episode.
In today’s episode we get into all kinds of fun conversation, including; ancient strength cultures, ultra-running, James’ world record run, persistence hunting the day he deadlifted 500 pounds and ran 50 miles 30 minutes later, bear hunting, how his teenage years influenced his perspective on hardship, and much more.
