Text: James 4:11-12

In this passage James pushes us to see the connection between judgmental words and a dismissing of both God and his Law. When we speak evil against a brother or sister, we are making ourselves judge over them and even over the Law itself. But as James says, "there is only one lawgiver and judge" and to the extent that we honour Him as such, we will alter our actions, thoughts and feelings to love those around us.
