-Where did you grow up in Newark?

-How was your household growing up?Did you feel as though you had to hurry up and start being an adult to be an extra help with your family?

-Growing up during what is considered the war on drugs years of america do you feel as though we were targeted when it came to crime?

⁃ Who or what person or situation made you realize that you wanted to become a policeman?

⁃ Because of your choice and career path growing up in the inner city did you feel as though you were trading on friends and family you grew up with or did you feel as though you were standing for your community?

⁃ When we see situations like george floyd or Trayvon martin,from a black policeman’s perspective, how do you view these situations? Are they viewed one in the same or from opposite sides of the spectrum?

⁃ Statistically year by year the number of young adults wanting to be apart of law enforcement is going down because of what is seen on the media.If you had a chance to talk to the youth and give them insight on the pros and cons of the career what would you tell them?

⁃ Being a retired sgt. Have you ever been put in a situation where you were not in Agree-ants with another officer on the scene and you had to side with the civilian?

⁃ A lot of things that people dont see the law enforcement has to deal with is situations involving children or toddlers that are ripped away from families or caused harm towards.Is their any stories that you can tell us without being to specific that have happened while on duty with you that you will never forget?

⁃ Being from the same city you patrolled from do you feel like when you worked in certain sections you got more respect from citizens than other officers because of your stature in the community or where you were raised?

⁃ Seeing the way the media attacks our communities and law enforcement at the exact same times what are some things that you feel need to be brought to the table or implemented in order for us to start coming to terms with each other and also respecting each other?

⁃ As an officer and working in high risk situation on the daily did this start to create trust issues or ptsd type triggers when you were off duty?

⁃ Working on the job for over 20 years and pushing through to the day every officer looks forward too which is retirement, do you feel like you lost a lot of people that came in to the academy with you or a lot of people who didnt get a chance to enjoy their retirement?

⁃ With all of the new architectural advancements that newark is going through right now do you feel as though this is to grow our community or is it a wash out to get rid of lower income families?

⁃ A lot of people want to get into working for their own communities or cities and even being an officer as well, whats some words of advice that you would give someone trying to start those careers but are having a hard time getting into the door?

⁃ You know we have to ask, as a police officer have you ever got lost on a chase?

⁃ Now that you are retired whats some new ventures or hobbies that you have got in to to better yourself or your community?
