The Evocativ Project - get people thinking

Jamie Usher | The Mind Tradie

Listen Later

Close your eyes, cover them with a cloth and imagine living the rest of your life in darkness. How would you feel? How would you do it? How would the relationship with yourself be? Well that thought is exactly what JAMIE USHER asked himself before he became “THE MIND TRADIE”.

Jamie recalls his journey to losing 90% of his vision at age 26 as the best thing that could have happened to him. He said “it was a sign from the universe that I needed to make a massive change in my life, I needed to change how I identified to myself because that was all I was about to see.”

Jamie hasn’t once let his disability hold him back from achieving his goals, entering his honours year in Physcology, forming and building an online coaching platform and becoming a husband and a father are just a small number of successes that he’s had over the last 11 years.

This episode is filled with a tremendous amount of practical suggestions on how Jamie was able to build his mental fitness, improve his perspective on life and use his trumers as fuel to become the best version of himself. He describes it as a tough journey with a lot of challenges but he also wouldn't change it for anything.
