in order that they might be kind and well-disposed toward the child.

그들 중13명은 그의 왕국에 있었습니다.

There were thirteen of them in his kingdom.

그러나 그는 오직12개의 황금 접시만을 그들이 먹을 만큼 준비했기 떄문에

But, as he had only twelve golden plates for them to eat out of,

손님 중 하나는 집에 남아있어야 했습니다.

one of them had to be left at home.

축제는 굉장히 화려하게 열렸고

The feast was held with all manner of splendor.

When it came to an end

하얀 마녀들은 그들의 마법 선물을 아기에게 주었습니다.

the Wise Women bestowed their magic gifts upon the baby.

한명은 선함을 또다른 한명은 아름다움을, 세번째 여자는 부귀영화를

One gave Virtue, another Beauty, a third Riches,

그 외에도 누구나 바랄만한 세상의 모든 것들을 주었습니다.

and so on with everything in the world that one can wish for.

그렇게 11명이 그들의 약속을 지켰을 때

When eleven of them had made their promises,

갑자기 13번째 마녀가 들어왔습니다.

suddenly the thirteenth came in.

그녀는 초대받지 못한대에 대한 복수를 하고자 바랐습니다.

She wished to avenge herself for not having been invited,
