and without greeting,

심지어 아무도 쳐다보지 않고,

or even looking at any one,

그녀는 큰 목소리로 말하길

she cried with a loud voice,

왕의 딸은 그녀가 15살이 되면

“The King’s Daughter, in her fifteenth year,

그녀 스스로 물레에게 찔리게 될 것입니다.

shall prick herself with a spindle,

그리고 죽게 될 것입니다.

and fall down dead.”

그리고 더 이상 한마디 하지않고

And, without saying a word more,

그녀는 돌아서서 방을 나갔습니다.

she turned round and left the room.

모두들 충격에 빠졌지만

They were all shocked.

12번째가 남아있었습니다.

But the twelfth,

그의 소원이 아직 말로 이루어지지 않은 채였게 때문에

whose good wish still remained unspoken,

그녀는 앞으로 나섰습니다.

came forward,

그녀는 사악한 문장을 되돌릴 수는 없었지만

and as she could not undo the evil sentence,

그러나 오직 누그러뜨리기 위해,

but only soften it,

그녀가 말하길

she said,

그것은 죽음이 아닐것입니다.

“It shall not be death,

그러나 백년에 이르는 깊은 잠일 것입니다.

but a deep sleep of a hundred years,

공주를 잠들게 할 것입니다.

into which the Princess shall fall.”

왕은 그의 사랑스러운 아이를 불행에서 지키기를 바랬기에

The King, who wished to keep his dear child from the misfortune,

명령하길 왕국의 모든 물레를 불태워야 한다고 했습니다.

gave orders that every spindle in the whole kingdom should be burnt.
