늙은 노파가 말했습니다.

said the Old Woman,

그녀의 머리를 끄덕이며,

and nodded her head.

이것은 어떤 종류의 것이죠?

“What sort of thing is that,

무슨 소리가 이렇게 경쾌할까요?

which rattles round so merrily?”

아가씨가 말했습니다.

said the maiden,

그녀는 물레를 잡았고

and she took the spindle

돌려보고 싶어있습니다.

and wanted to spin too.

그러나 그녀는 물레를 거의 만지지 않았는데도

But scarcely had she touched the spindle

그때 마법의 조건이 만족되었고,

when the magic decree was fulfilled,

그녀는 그녀의 손가락을 찔렀습니다.

and she pricked her finger with it.

그리고 아주 짧은 순간에,

And, in the very moment

그녀가 찔린 느낌을 받을 적에

when she felt the prick,

그녀는 그곳에 있던 침대 위로 쓰러졌습니다.

she fell down upon the bed that stood there,

그리고 깊은 잠에 빠졌습닌다.

and lay in a deep sleep.
