Faith in Action—Faith in Jesus is not passive — it’s alive and active through Word, fellowship, and service. God fills us with his grace in Word and Sacrament, unites us to one another as his family, and sends us out as his hands and feet in the world.
Throughout this sermon series we are going to reflect on the mission statement of St. Paul’s and consider how a new system in our church, called Member Ministry, will help us achieve this mission. As Member Ministry is introduced you will discover more about yourself and the opportunities God has placed in front of you as you live out your Faith in Action.
Faith Supported—Your faith became alive and active through Word and Sacrament. Yet the devil never stops trying to destroy that faith. As Christians we understand the importance of God’s Word and sacrament in our lives.
The community of believers that we have at St. Paul’s is a unique blessing for us all. These are the people with whom you grow in a greater understanding of God’s Word, who hold you accountable to your faith life, and who pray for you. They care about the most important asset you have – your soul. Today I pray you come to a great appreciation for this community of believers and for the tools that God gives us to support each other in the most important way.
