In today's episode, the cabinet on Wednesday decided to introduce a ‘test to stay’ at schools, with the aim of keeping them operational and detecting positive cases in a timely manner. Under the rule, close contacts of confirmed cases that have no history of vaccination, instead of having to isolate, will undergo a daily rapid test for a period of five days.
Meanwhile, 11 people arrested in connection with a mass brawl in Chlorakas last week were charged and released conditionally. They will appear at Paphos district court for a hearing on February 24, police said on Wednesday.
In other news, British bases police sergeant, Loucas Panayiotou, has been awarded the Overseas Territories Police Medal by the queen on the New Year’s Honours list.
