The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is taking action against GoDaddy, a major web hosting company, for alleged lax data security practices that put its customers at risk. The FTC claims that GoDaddy failed to implement adequate security measures, leading to multiple security breaches between 2019 and 2022. In a separate incident, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is investigating claims of a data breach after a threat actor, IntelBroker, alleged to have stolen sensitive information from the company's developer environments. The stolen data reportedly includes source code, certificates, and user information. Meanwhile, hotel management platform Otelier suffered a data breach resulting in the theft of personal information and reservation details of millions of hotel guests. The breach was reportedly carried out by threat actors who gained access to Otelier's Amazon S3 cloud storage using stolen credentials. The stolen data includes information from well-known hotel brands like Marriott, Hilton, and Hyatt.
