1924 – Petrograd is renamed Leningrad: Following the death of Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin, the Russian city of Petrograd was renamed Leningrad in his honor. It reverted to its original name, St. Petersburg, in 1991.

1984 – The launch of the Apple Macintosh: Steve Jobs introduced the Apple Macintosh computer during a groundbreaking presentation. The Macintosh revolutionized personal computing with its graphical user interface and mouse-driven functionality.
