On the seventh of July, we Japanese celebrate Tanabata たなばた, Star Festival in Japan.

Have you ever heard about this festival?

We write our wishes on colorful strips of paper called たんざく and hang them on bamboo.

We also hung some paper decorations.

Tanabata is based on a story about a couple called おりひめ and ひこぼし.

In this episode, I will read Tanabata’s story for you in Japanese and English translation.
