Bernie visits with Fangraphs senior writer Jay Jaffe. Jay talks about how the Cards' signing of Willson Contreras was a great move that has been overshadowed by a lot of the big money mega deals. Jay also points out that luck typically plays a role in veterans' committee selections to the Hall of Fame as Harold Baines was aided with a large White Sox presence and even 2023 electee Fred McGriff was able to benefit from having Greg Maddux and others he had connections to on the committee.
