ABOUT OUR ACT 2 CO-HOST AUTHORS:

Natalie Diaz is a member of the Mojave and Pima Indian tribes. She attended Old Dominion University on a full athletic scholarship and played professional basketball in Europe before returning for an MFA in writing. Her work was selected by Natasha Trethewey for Best New Poets and she has received the Nimrod/Hardman Pablo Neruda Prize and our 2013 Debut-litzer Prize in Poetry.

 

Carl Adamshick is the co-founder of Tavern Books. He is the 2010 winner of the Walt Whitman Award judged by Marvin Bell and the author of Curses and Wishes, published by Louisiana State University Press. His poems and essays have appeared in Narrative, American Poetry Review, The Harvard Review and elsewhere.
