Thousands of fans joined a Twitter Spaces conversation Tuesday, hosted by Alicia Keys and Rob Markman of Genius, to talk about the iconic R&B singer’s new album, Keys, the 90-minute opus released earlier this month that features appearances from several contributors and production from her husband, Swizz Beatz.

A surprise guest and Keys collaborator joined the virtual forum to weigh in on the album and the artist. And when you get the opportunity to talk with Jay-Z, you better make it count. The two did.

Although the rapper stated that he’d have zero competition, Twitter users are comparing Jay-Z’s hits to Lil Wayne’s tracks, and the argument has caused quite the stir.

In talks with Twitter Spaces, Jay-Z stated: “No one can stand on that [Verzuz] stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me.

“You got to stand in front of the ‘Grammy Family Freestyle’ live? No one has ever even seen me perform that, you got to stand in front of that? That ain’t never going to happen.”

Although there are no plans for an officialy Jay-Z vs Lil Wayne Verzuz battle, fans have taken to Twitter amid the rapper’s comments to debate who would theoretically win.
