Judiciary System: The Nigerian justice system is a mix of different legal traditions, primarily English common law, customary law, and Sharia law (for consenting Muslims). It's structured with federal and state courts, culminating in the Supreme Court as the final appellate body. The system has faced challenges, including corruption allegations and concerns about delays and efficiency.
The result on the masses cannot be underestimated following the numerous decisions being meted out from judgements and how politicians now see the judiciary as a tool to abuse power.

At least 100 people were killed late Friday when gunmen stormed Yelewata village in Guma local government area of Benue State, Nigeria, in one of the deadliest attacks recorded in the region this year.
The attack led to unrest where the youth in their numbers protested against the killings. President Bola Tinubu has given his directive but the issue remains what the likelihood and chances of restoring peace could be like in the state.
Also in Plateau State, Mangu and Kanam local governments suffered their own share of attacks.

In 1999, Nigeria transited from military to democratic governance, and has made steady, though challenged progress democratically. In 2023, Nigerians will be going to the polls to vote in the 7th General Elections since transition to democracy. Historically, this is the longest period of uninterrupted democratic governance, which also witnessed successful transfer of power across political parties in 2015, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).Despite the challenges of insecurity which Nigeria has been grappling with, efforts still must be made to ensure that the electoral process is not only credible, but increasingly inclusive.

What are the specific areas of collaboration that you think the Federal and Plateau state governments can improve for the betterment of citizens?

Electricity distribution companies recorded a shortfall of over N202bn in their revenue collections for the first quarter of 2025, despite a rise in electricity billing across the country.
This was as data revealed that electricity billing by distribution companies increased by 106.68 per cent or N393.26bn year-on-year from the same period in 2024.
According to the latest report published by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, the 12 power distribution companies, also known as Discos, billed customers a total of N761.91bn between January and March 2025.
