Remembering B.B. King

September 2025 marked the 100th anniversary of B.B.’s birth and I am honored to

have been interviewed by Vintage Guitar Magazine about my time with him at the very

beginning of my life as a guitarist. This original is from my Blues Epic Suite pt. 2: The Chitlin’ Circuit. I hope to invoke B.B. King Live At The Regal, live in Chicago 1968’s Blues Is King, etc.

Remembering Jimi Hendrix

Started as an improvisation Juma and I had been working on for some time. Sort of a frame for a collage of Jimi Hendrix quotes. My heartfelt salute to his legacy as a kind and wise person.

Big Boss

Sonny Fortune was the first jazz musician I heard live on stage and within only a few moments it changed my life. Several years later I heard him one night at Blue Note andwoke up after about four hours of sleep with this tune fully formed in my head, I only had to write it down on staff paper.

Keeping with the Hard Bop Meets Woodstock theme, I base my arrangement on Arlo
