Another huge debut for us on the label and hot off his massive release on the label Eatbrain this summer Impex makes the jump from Sunny Portugal to join us in the drizzly depths of the Midlands UK. Home of Dirtbox Recordings.

Impex has been involved in the creation of music since way back in 2004 starting out as a bass player in Metal, Rock & Hardcore bands. This is where he quickly developed a taste for broken brats and groovy basslines.

It wasn't until attending Therapy sessions in Lisbon 2009 he decided that DNB was the way to go.

Since then Impex has mounted up an impressive run of music on labels such as Eatbrain, Korsakov, Sinefunction and Space Pirate to name just a few.

And now here we are with a huge 4 track EP freshly cut this year for the dancefloors and his debut with us on Dirtbox.

1/ “Downbeat”

Opening up the EP, Downbeat has been getting some huge airplay across the globe from the very few Djs that are lucky enough to have a copy. A much more groovier track then the rest of the release and a brilliant opener that sets a trend for what's to follow

2/ “A Minute”

The EP nameholder. This one takes a much more haunting start, with a turn into something with a little more pace. It drops into one of the crunchiest bass rides we have heard in a long time in Neuro and is a beast of a track and the only visible vocal throughout the EP

3/ “Incoming”

We flip the EP 180 degrees and land with a soul sucking, granny smashing neuro monster. This is everything you’d expect from a European country producing Neurofunk to such a high standard and is just full on balls to the wall on a loud system.

4/ “Gameboy Twitch”

As you’d expect from the track name, The sounds and samples to trained ear will be very familiar with the 80s /90s handheld Game unit players.

High paced Neuro roller that sucks you down those green pipes while munching mushrooms and twizzling your big moustache.
