Has your heart been cleansed? The Lord Jesus Christ blesses the people of God by cleansing them from the defilement of sin.

Daniel 6:4-5 4 Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him. 5 Then these men said, "We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God (NASB). The other two commissioners in their envy began a plot to remove Daniel from his position of esteem. Envy or jealousy are some of the traits of the apostle Paul cites as one of the fruits of the flesh, envy. Galatians 5:21 21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God (KJV). Paul is saying that those that do these things will not be in the future Kingdom when Jesus sets it up after the Great Tribulation. This again is not to say that if a Christian sins he/she will lose their salvation. This is saying that a person who continually lives in this state is not a child of the Living God and therefore will not inherit God's future Kingdom Daniel who wanted to follow the Lord in everything he did was not going to exhibit any envy. Even though envy is clearly cited in Galatians chapter five the concept is called coveting in the Old Testament as Daniel was well aware. Exodus 20:17 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour

The central burden is that Christ is greater than all — greater than John, the apostles, the prophets, and every preacher — and that this greatness demands a response. Working through verses 31 to 36, Pastor Rockhill unfolds three ways Jesus is greater. He is greater in His origin, for He comes from above as the eternal Son of God and Creator, while man is of the earth, mere dust. He is greater in His witness, for He alone has seen and heard the mysteries of the Godhead and always speaks the very Word of God, unlike our fallible and often inconsistent testimony. And He is greater in the gifts He has received, possessing the Spirit without measure and all things from the Father, yet graciously sharing these gifts with His people. Pastor Rockhill presses home the doctrine of Christ's essential and mediatorial kingship, magnifying the wonder of the incarnation and the cross, where Jesus bore the wrath of God in the place of undeserving sinners. The application is urgent and searching: there can be no fence-sitters. Verse 36 sets before every hearer the difference between life and death — those who believe the Son have everlasting life, while those who reject Him remain under the abiding wrath of God. Pastor Rockhill lovingly calls each listener to respond in faith, to the glory of God alone.

In this morning message from John 3:22–30, Pastor Rockhill draws out the humble example of John the Baptist as a pattern for every believer who seeks to serve Christ faithfully. When John's disciples grow jealous that Jesus is baptizing and drawing larger crowds, John refuses to be threatened. Instead he reminds them that a man can receive nothing except what is given him from heaven, and he rejoices that his God-given mission is being fulfilled. Pastor Rockhill shows how John understood his calling as a forerunner and herald—the voice crying in the wilderness, the friend of the bridegroom whose joy is made full when the bride is led to the groom. John was never the Christ, the King, or the Messiah; his whole ministry was to point people to Jesus and then to fade into the background. The central burden of the passage is captured in verse 30: "He must increase, but I must decrease." Along the way, Pastor Rockhill addresses the danger of loyalty to a man overtaking devotion to the mission, warning that admiration for a faithful teacher can slip into pride, division, and even idolatry. He points to the sovereignty of God ordering both John's ministry and Christ's, and to the humility that trusts God's plan. The application is searching and personal. More Jesus and less John means more Jesus and less of each of us. Echoing Galatians 2:20, Pastor Rockhill calls the congregation to be crucified with Christ, living lives that fade into the background so that those around them see the Savior exalted, all to the glory of God alone.
