Jean Fall is an inspiration for everyone out there. He is an African in Diaspora (both a French (Mom) and Senegalese (Dad)).
At the age of 19, he started this search of the other part of himself. A few years later, he saw the need (through his own experience visiting Senegal almost every year) on promoting African culture and current stories. This subsequently provided an opportunity from his experience of his experiences of the Senegalese culture and his experiences that he capitalized on (starting with a road trip across Senegal) until now founding, Cinewax.
Due to his passion for cinema, he wanted to communicate African stories and cultures through films which Cinewax's mission. Everything started with Crowdfunding (First crowdfunding led to a total fund raised of 7,500 Euros) and part-time jobs to get him off the ground ( a true entrepreneurial endeavor to build a company).
Since 2015, Cinewax has been promoting African films through original programming. Festivals, film premieres, screenings, we design creative formats to enhance the visibility of African cultures through films.
