Not only did her vast writing and publishing bring together queer folks across the nation, helping to connect people like never before, but her activism against hateful anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and work to bring the Democratic Party to embracing the queer liberation movement helped to ensure the queer community would have freedom and recognition.
