Welcome back everyone, to the Hike’s Peak podcast, thank you for coming back to the mountain! After a crazy regular season led us back to the blue turf for the championship game, Ashton Jeanty and Boise State ran through UNLV to secure everything from a first round bye in the CFP to a Heisman finalist spot for their star RB. We’ll go over everything surrounding the conference championship, then it’s time to hop on the coach carousel! We had two huge switches this week, with New Mexico HC Bronco Mendenhall leaving the Lobos after one season to take the job at Utah State, and UNLV’s Barry Odom taking off for Purdue. What’s next for these two programs, and what names could be in the mix? To end the show, we’ll quickly go over each bowl eligible Mountain West team’s destination for the bowl season, and we’ll cap it off with each team's most notable transfer portal entry, and portal season is also in full swing. Mammoth episode this week, let’s dive in!
If you enjoy the episode, consider rating it 5 stars, leaving a review on iTunes, or sharing the podcast with one friend who you think would enjoy it! It would help us immensely if you took the time out of your day to help the show! Make sure to check out the depth chart tracker for football and basketball, available to all for free and updated as soon as news breaks! The 2025 transfer tracker is also live, you can find the always-updating list here. Thank you for coming back to the mountain, and we hope you’ll make the trek back up here each week of the 2024 season!
