I pulled here from one of my own experiences in the hopes that people can understand why so many hide, deny, compensate for, and romanticize sexual traumas or why they don’t always react in a way that “makes sense”. We want a society of happy, healthy, mentally sound individuals because that truly benefits all of us. Let’s not play into sexual exploitation, it’s a deeply rooted problem and misunderstood in our society. How can we better listen, support, heal and change this narrative. Most if not all women I know have experienced sexual trauma & many men have come forward to me as well. The blame has been put on the accusers. We need to protect our children, our teens, our young adults & our adults as much as we can. This doesn’t happen by these issues staying in secret or surrounded by shame. 💜
