• Rutgers starts 3-0 but has injury concerns.  A 60-10 drubbing of Norfolk St didn’t tell us much. But a huge Iowa game looms for this Friday night at home!
• The Giants lost an OT heartbreaker with Wilson excelling in Dallas, as the defense and penalties led to an exciting but  devastating loss.  Wilson was brilliant and the defense was atrocious.

The Giants opened the season in disastrous fashion, geting embarrassed by Washington 21-6. The O line was pathetic, and on top of that, Russell Wilson was terrible and panicky all game.

Rutgers' offense carried RU to a 45-17 win over Miami (Ohio).  RU's wide receivers are elite, and our RB room is very deep.  Kaliakmanis was quite good again and the offense hummed along at will seemingly. The defense struggled plenty again, as Rutgers continues to look for defensive improvement. The lack of a pass rush and ongoing awful safety play continue to haunt a defense that needs to quickly improve before Big 10 play.

Rutgers hung on and beat a talented Ohio team with an excellent QB, to win 34-31 at Rutgers stadium.  For better or worse, it played out mostly as expected with Rutgers' offense mostly humming along nicely, and Rutgers' D looking mostly poor.  Greg Schiano's decision with under   minutes left to go for it on 4th and 7 won the game.  I discuss the huge balls it takes to make that call and how that was the only way Rutgers was winning this game.

• Yankees:  It’s time for the soft Yankees to stop accepting losing.  Pollyanna Boone and his band of merry losers need to get mad, and not just accept this extended poor play. Bad play is one thing.  Accepting it is quite another.
• NY Rangers: the NY Rangers and Drury continue to turn the team over.  With K'Andre Miller traded, Gavrikov signed, the Rangers have so many new faces, and a new coach, and .. new announcers.  What a different year it will be.  I discuss all the turnover.
