Jesus loved Jerusalem, but His last words in the temple were a lament of condemnation upon unrestrained Pharisaical hypocrisy. The religious leaders had misled God’s people long enough, and it was time for the old to give way as Jesus leaves their house to them desolate and journeys on to make all things new.
