Jess Brown is the Director of UX at Vice Media.

She’s spent the past couple of years building the team that’s lead the company’s efforts on re-designing Vice’s brand from the ground up - across the web and all mobile properties.

But before joining Vice, Jess was based in San Francisco working on a fashion startup of her own called Threadflip, she was introduced to the team at Rent The Runway in New York. Jess ended up joining the team there for several years.

There she helped create and deliver a better user experience through a mix of design and product thinking.

Waqas Ali is the co-founder of Atoms, one & only shoe for every day.

Waqas started building a startups and businesses after discovering the internet and realizing you could sell products online. 

While there were a ton of insurmountable challenges, Waqas and his co founder Sidra persevered - launching a custom dress shoe company called Markhor.

They eventually made it to the US, ran a massive kickstarter campaign and got into YC on their second attempt.
