A woman on the organ transplant waiting list, says New Zealand has a double standard when it comes to consent for organ donation.
Jess Manning has taken a petition to Parliament asking for donation to be mandatory, unless someone opts-out.
She told Mike Hosking another issue is that even if someone states on their drivers licence that they want to be a donor their family gets to make the final call.
"People that choose to opt out their wishes are respected and their organs are not passed on, so I believe that people that want to be a donor, their family should not be allowed to go against their wishes."
